Final SOP

I. Introduction

This procedure will focus on setting up GIT, a system software for users to operate. GIT allows for usersto track visible changes within a program’s code and work collaboratively with other users on a set ofcode. This allows for a multitude of benefits including; developers having their own copy of the code,regular communications, and code changes to be easily tracked. The scope is applicable for all usersresponsible for the code.

II. Procedure

To use GIT, the user must first, follow the appropriate steps into setting up/installing the software:

1. Launch your default browser

2. Search up “Setting Up GIT”. A link should appear, directing you to the website. Click on the link, directing you to the website.

3. The website should provide you with a list of options to download. Please select the first option,“Click here to download the latest version”

4. Wait for the download to complete

5. After download is complete, follow the onscreen instruction. This will allow the program toinstall properly.

6. Installation is complete.

7. Launch a terminal or Git Bash

8. Search up “Git Terminal” and confirm

III. Safety & Precautions

  • Please be aware of the basic safety rules and procedures when it comes to having hazardous equipment. around technology. This means: keeping liquids away
  • Manage people that have access to code changes
  • Update GIT regularly to ensure the latest security measures are intact.

IV. Equipment & Materials

The necessary equipment and materials needed for this procedure are limited, the only item you will needalong with yourself, is a functioning computer or laptop with a viable internet connection.

V. Quality Control

To decipher whether it has worked correctly, there are two methods, one being applicable to IOS devices,and the second applicable to WINDOWS. You must open the command prompt and search for “GITVersion” to verify.

VI. Documentation & Records

In order to document safely, please ensure the installation is safely backed up to help prevent data loss. Tomaintain and store the changes of code using GIT safely, limit authorization allowed and keep the peoplewith access to a minimum.Keep record of all the changes made throughout the code, by date and time. This will help to ensure odthe different and most updated versions of the code.
